5-Hydroxy-Tryptophan
  read James South's article

5-hydroxy-tryptophan is the actual precursor of serotonin (the brain neurotransmitter linked with pleasure and fulfillment). 5-HTP is often used in the place of SSRI drugs and L-Tryptophan in the treatment of depression and epilepsy.  As a result 5-hydroxy-tryptophan has many similar uses such as the assistance of sleep and alleviation of age related mental depression as well as alcohol withdrawal.

Normal doses are 50mg to 100mg (200mg-maximum) daily. Avoid use with other serotonin enhancing agents, such as L-Tryptophan or SSRI drugs like Prozac, Zoloft, etc., without your physician's advice.                  to order

"What a good-strong replacement 5-hydroxy-tryptophan has been for the SSRI drugs I was taking. Both my doctor and I are pleased that a natural safer substance is working well."
